KCNA Social Content Specialist

Location: Greater Chicago area (Hybrid - on-site 2 days per week)

Schedule: 40 hours/week

Travel: Up to 25% (not likely that much) maybe once a quarter

3 month assignment with strong possibility of extension

Manager looking for candidates who can create social media content, but also star in their own videos, posts. Manager requests candidates who have acting/theatre experience. They can be lighter on the social media experience (1-2 years).

The KCNA Social Media team is seeking a highly creative and trend-savvy Social Content Specialist to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who lives and breathes social media, has a sharp eye for design and video editing, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You'll be responsible for producing engaging, platform-native content (primarily static with some short-form video), while also supporting light community management duties to ensure a consistent and authentic brand voice across channels. Your work will directly influence how consumers experience and engage with our brands, helping to build loyalty and drive cultural relevance.

The Social Content Specialist will implement the KCNA social media approach of assigned brands, occasionally assist in managing engagement and interactivity with the consumer audience and generate best-in-class social content with efficiency and excellence. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams and agency partners, gaining exposure to integrated marketing strategies and the latest in digital innovation, as well as internal department teams to support their respective missions, ensuring consistency in voice and cultivating a strong social brand.

Key Responsibilities

Content Creation (90%)

o Create thumb-stopping content that resonates with diverse audiences across platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook

o Design static graphics and edit short-form videos using brand guidelines and current trends

o Collaborate with internal teams and agency partners to align content with brand strategy and campaign goals

o Stay ahead of social trends, platform updates, and emerging formats to inform content strategy

o Support the creation of social toolkits, templates, and creative briefs

Community Management (10%)

o Monitor and engage with audiences across owned social channels using social media management tools (e.g., Sprinklr)

o Respond to key comments and messages in a timely, brand-appropriate manner

o Flag emerging issues, trends, or opportunities to internal teams

Qualifications

2+ years of experience in social media content creation (Will consider 1-2 years for candidates who have acting/theatre experience/training)

Experience in community management is a plus

Strong graphic design and video editing skills (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, CapCut, etc.)

o Please be prepared to provide a portfolio showcasing your best design work or standout social content that demonstrates your creative impact

Deep understanding of social media platforms, trends, and best practices

Experience with social media management tools (Sprinklr preferred)

Excellent copywriting and communication skills

Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, design, or a related field preferred

Bilingual in Spanish is a plus

Working Conditions

Remote work from the Greater Chicago

Must have reliable internet access

Occasional evening or weekend work may be required based on content needs or community escalations

Travel up to 25% may be required for content capture, team collaboration, or event coverage
