A Chief Editor should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong leadership and decision-making abilities, and a keen eye for detail. Knowledge of editing software and content management systems is often necessary. A degree in Journalism, English, Communications or a related field is generally required, along with several years of experience in editing or related roles. Prior to becoming a Chief Editor, a person might have roles such as Copy Editor, Assistant Editor, or Managing Editor.
