Job Summary

Responsible for providing with the highest quality documentation of processes and systems. Assists in the editing of documents (such as Guidelines, Policies, and Procedures) for spelling, grammar, content accuracy, and readability. Has a fundamental understanding of various software technologies and functionality of application systems. Assists in the layout and organization of manuals and other documents.

Job Description

We are considering candidates at two different grades for this position. As a result, candidates will be evaluated and hired at the highest grade for which they qualify.

What you'll do:

  • Oversee various groups in preparing and editing process documents.
  • Guide less senior level employee in editing documents (such as Guidelines, Policies, and Procedures) for spelling, grammar, content accuracy, readability, and consistency.
  • Independently prepares and updates documentation. Prepare and review outline of content and written text. Coordinates layout and organization of manuals and other documents.
  • Ability to simplify moderate to complex technical topics for lay audiences.
  • Lead the research and development and coordination of new procedures and changes to existing procedures.
  • Coordinates with other departments & organizations during procedure development and revision process.
  • Lead and support the establishing of revision guidelines, procedure standards, and procedure writing guidelines.

What we're looking for:

Grade 7:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, English, or a four-year technology degree with emphasis in technical communication, or a high school diploma / GED with related field experience.
  • 4 years related experience. Experience in the Electric Utility industry is highly preferred.
  • Excellent technical communication skills, which include writing and editing
  • Experience with Visio and process mapping basics.
  • Knowledge of topic-based documentation.
  • Experience with content management systems and ShareNow.

Grade 8:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, English, or a four-year technology degree with emphasis in technical communication, or a high school diploma / GED with related field experience.
  • 5 years related experience. Experience in the Electric Utility industry is highly preferred.
  • Excellent technical communication skills, which include writing and editing
  • Experience with Visio and process mapping basics.
  • Knowledge of topic-based documentation.
  • Experience with content management systems and ShareNow.

Grade 7: $85,081 - $106,354

Grade 8: $96,110 - $124,941

$85,081.00-106,352.50 USD
