Technical Documentation & Proposal Specialist for immediate contract to direct hire position in the Phelps, NY area!

This is an AWESOME opportunity to work in role that bridges the gap between our engineering team, floor operations, and commercial sales.

This role will be responsible for evaluating client requirements, writing compelling and technically accurate business proposals, and creating clear technical documentation to support our manufacturing workflow.

The right person will be have a background working directly within a manufacturing environment (e.g., aerospace, automotive, industrial machinery, or electronics) and possess a passion documentation and details! You must have the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, CAD models, and bills of materials (BOMs) and have exceptional written and verbal comminication skills.

responsibilities:
  • Review RFPs, RFQs (requests for quotes), and client specifications to design, write, and execute comprehensive technical proposals

  • Partner with manufacturing, and engineering leadership teams to determine optimal production methods, timelines, and material costs for proposals

  • Author and maintain complex technical documents, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), user manuals, manufacturing data sheets, and proposals

  • Maintain and update a centralized database of technical specs, boilerplate proposal language, and compliance documentation
Requirements

  • 2 - 15 years experience within a manufacturing environment (e.g., aerospace, automotive, industrial, etc..)

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a proven track record of writing successful business proposals

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, CAD models, and bills of materials (BOMs)

  • Interpersonal skills with a proven work ethic

  • Experience with MS Office Suite (Word and Excel), any proposal management software, or ERP/PLM systems is a major plus
