Eastern Florida State College is currently seeking applications for the full-time position of Grants Writer/Development Officer on the Cocoa Campus in Cocoa, Florida.
Salary & Benefit
The annual salary is $40,608. Successful internal candidates for external job postings should be aware that their current salary does not transfer to the new position. Salary will be as advertised in the job announcement. Full-time employees of Eastern Florida State College receive fringe benefits including health insurance and a retirement plan.
Position Concept
This position assists with conceptualizing, developing, and writing proposals and related contracts. Basic functions include writing, research and dissemination of grant information.
Minimum Qualifications
The following minimum qualifications for this position must be met before any applicant will be considered:
- Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution.
- 1-2 years' of related administrative, journalism or communications experience.
- Grants development experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Must be able to format documents professionally and use formulas in Excel to construct budgets.
- Must have strong computer skills and understand database management.
- Ability to manage multiple projects.
- Demonstrated ability to work with minimum supervision and meeting deadlines.
- Proficiency with electronic research and monitoring.
- Effective and demonstrated interpersonal skills and professional demeanor.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, establish objectives and prioritization, implement plans and achieve goals, as well as motivate and create productive work relationships with a broad spectrum of individuals both inside and outside of the College.
- Valid Florida Motor Vehicle Operator's license required.
- A review of Social Media activity will be part of the candidate evaluation process.
- This position will require successful fingerprinting and the candidate chosen will be required to pay the associated fee (currently $36.00). This fingerprinting fee ($36.00) is non-refundable.

- High School Diploma or GED or transcripts or official transcripts of all collegiate work (as appropriate for the position) must be sent directly from the attended institution to the Human Resources Office prior to the first day of employment. All foreign degrees must have a course-by-course official evaluation and translation sent to the Human Resources Office directly from an evaluation company affiliated with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc.
Minimum physical qualifications:
- Works inside in an office environment.
- Travel required in-county and out-of-county.
