Job Description: The Technical Writer 3 works with minimal instructions, owning significant project workstreams as well as mentoring of junior associates, as needed. They lead AI-assisted content gap analysis and apply knowledge of content architecture. This level marks a shift to independent strategic contribution, a focus on proactive content improvement is expected. Works independently; manages project workstreams with minimal supervision. Note: This role may come into contact with confidential or sensitive customer information requiring special treatment in accordance with Red Hat policies and applicable privacy laws. Content Creation: Proactively creates content ecosystems that bridge the gap between technical complexity and customer goals, taking a portfolio view. Uses AI for drafting and validates output with product expertise. Content Strategy Application: Proactively applies knowledge of content standards to build modular, reusable content that promotes AI consumption. Evaluates technical documentation to ensure quality (content is clear, concise, user focused, and easy to navigate by users). Project and Team Leadership (Independence): Manages multiple concurrent project workstreams with minimal supervision, developing and executing tactical plans to meet objectives, scope, and sprint goals. Risk & Reporting: Prepare and present project status updates, maintains appropriate currency in work items, clearly identifying risks and providing recommendations to mitigate them. Mentorship & Change Leadership: Begins to mentor by advising and supporting junior team members. Supports senior staff to guide, inspire, and support transitions (e.g., tool or process changes). Leads by example wrt change agility AI Application: Leads AI-assisted content gap analysis initiatives and uses results to drive curation of content and retirement of content that is no longer current. Required Skills: Enterprise-level technical writing experience, including collaborative writing experience Experience with topic-based authoring, information architecture methodologies; DITA is preferred. Awareness of agile software development methodologies. Familiarity with Red Hat's products and related industry offerings. Experience with version control systems. Ability to collaborate in a global team environment, proactively engage subject matter experts, and follow through on commitments Working knowledge and experience operating in a Linux environment using the command line Experience using AI tools for technical writing Understanding of PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) and PQC (Post Quantum Cryptography) is an advantage
