The Instructional Designer II position is an individual contributor joining an established and
nurturing learning team responsible for managing pilot learning requests that start at concept proposal and follow through to completion using sound Instructional System Design (ISD) processes. Close coordination with the training compliance team ensures that government and corporate requirements are met. This role is responsible for adhering to the group's schedule for the complete content development lifecycle using predictable, repeatable processes. This position contributes to production standards for all digital content.
The Instructional Designer II is involved in a multitude of eLearning interventions for pilot learning and development. A rapid understanding of developer tools, digital asset management, content distribution methods, and electronic testing systems will be required.
Working with multiple IT portfolios, this position will also assist in ensuring that content related technologies are seamlessly integrated with the system of record, end-user mobile devices, Internet/Intranet, Knowledge Management, and IT technical support systems.
These responsibilities require up-to-date knowledge of training technology and interactive learning tools, processes, and best practices.
The scope of e-learning content includes, and is not limited to:
- Quarterly e-learning releases.
- Aircraft systems e-learning programs.
- A test bank of over 8,000 questions and supporting graphics.
- FAA, TSA, and corporate compliance training subjects.
Successful development and design of training content and technology requires close collaboration with divisional stakeholders such as Flight Standards, Aircrew Records, Quality Assurance & Compliance, Training Planning, and the Digital & Ops Info teams. Coordination with corporate IT, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Safety, Security, Compliance, Legal, Communications, and operational business units is essential to delivering accurate eLearning effectively and efficiently.
External interactions can also include vendors, contractors, auditors, labor organizations, and regulators.

- Responsible for the development of highly engaging and interactive learning solutions using industry standard eLearning software.
- Apply advanced adult learning theories into practical, application-based learning design and development with the ability to convert strategies to effective and engaging learning experiences.
- Possess the ability to work in a team environment to design, develop and build blended learning experiences.
- Acquire and apply new technology skills to instructional design practice.
- Partner and collaborate with other learning professionals and business partners in delivering a consistent learning experience.
