NEW Solutions connects experienced workers (ages 55+) with the National ParkService (NPS). These experienced professionals provide administrative expertise,facilities management, natural and cultural resource planning, and a broad arrayof other professional skills that support the National Park Service through theExperienced Services Program (ESP).

The enrollment relationship between NEW Solutions and the Enrollee isan ?at-will? relationship. This means that an Enrollee is free to terminateenrollment at any time during the enrollment period, and NEW Solutions and theAgency have the right to terminate the relationship with the Enrollee.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 15 year(s) of experience in Graphic Design or related field OR AA/HSDegree in Graphic Design, visual communications, visual arts or related fieldwith minimum additional experience of 7 year(s) in Graphic design in the contextof interpretation for parks, project management OR Previously completed trainingin Adobe Creative Suite

Knowledge of a variety of methods, standards, techniques, and materials usedin the design, production, and reproduction of visual products to plan thetechnical details of, or produce, aesthetically composed visual products in atimely manner. Knowledge of NPS and interagency policies, guidelines, andstandards related to websites and on-line applications, audio-visualproductions, publications and signage, including the NPS Graphic IdentifyProgram, and accessibility requirements.Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS ExcelAdobe Creative Cloud/InDesign/PhotoShop/IllustratorDuties:

Graphic design to support interpretation at Rosie the Riveter WWII HomefrontNHP, John Muir NHP, Port Chicago Naval Magazine NM, and Eugene O?Neill NHP.

Produces and installs interior and exterior orientation, printed signage,information and interpretive fabric banners and kiosk education media and othervisitor information products. Provides visual production services to parkdivisions using nationally established guidelines and industry standards, e.g.development of two outdoor interpretive panels for Eugene O?Neill NHP whichaddress the history of the site and its historic context 50%Plans the visual aspects of printed materials such as pamphlets, posters,handouts, activity schedules, and other similar materials, e.g. creation offlyers in support of interpretive programs which are engaging and may be usedfor promotion of programs throughout the 4 parks 40%Carrying out the visual information aspects of public awareness andcommunity engagement programs, e.g. development of logos and posters topublicize special events, some of which are put on in collaboration with parkpartners 10%
