POSITION TITLE: HEAD START WELLNESS CONTENT MANAGER

WELLNESS CONTENT MGR

OBJECTIVE: Head Start's commitment to wellness embraces a comprehensive vision of health for children, families, and staff. The objective is to ensure that through collaboration among families, staff, and health professionals, all child health and developmental concerns are identified, and children and families are linked to an ongoing source of continuous , accessible care to meet their basic health needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidates must demonstrate their ability to accomplish the Essential Job Results stated below. Job knowledge / documentation preferred: Degree in Health Education, Nursing, Community Health Aide certification, or related field. Work experience involving training on a variety of related health issues. Criminal Background Clearance Check Including Fingerprints, and Head Start required health documentation, CPR/First Aid. Familiarity with Bristol Bay area, people, and culture.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESULTS

by

Understanding Head Start's Performance Standards for Child Health and Developmental Services, Child Health and Safety, Child Nutrition, and Child Behavioral Health.

Implementing the Head Start health, safety, mental health and nutrition performance standards.

Ensure child screening for developmental, sensory, and behavioral concerns occurs within the required timelines.

Review of immunization status prior to the first day of school to ensure that students have the required immunizations to be present in school.

Develop follow-up plans and referrals to ongoing care for students with identified health or behavioral challenges.

Establish and maintain a Health Services Advisory Committee (HSAC) which includes a Head Start parent and health professionals.

In conjunction with BBAHC Health Education staff and CDD Management team, maintain the Early Childhood Interdisciplinary Team (ECIT) quarterly meetings and related activities.

Collaborate with community health providers to address the health needs of HS Children and families.

Participate during enrollment activities to assist families in accessing health care prior to the time of the child's entry into the program.

Participate in case management and follow-up for children and who may need additional medical, dental or mental health services.

Provide site staff and parents with assistance in seeking appropriate services, follow-up, and on-going care.

Provide training for staff, parents and families specific to content area.

Supervise the Cook position in Dillingham.

Ensure that meals served in all sites are compliant with CACFP regulations.

Ensure that CACFP annual renewal and monthly claims are submitted timely.

Achieves Program Goals

By

Providing regular individual support to sites including, site visits, pre-service sessions, and site specific meetings with Content Managers

Assist site staff review monthly menus, weekly working menus, and nutritional activities.

Ensure that all suspected cases of child abuse or neglect are promptly reported to the proper authorities.

Ensure classrooms and playgrounds are safe environments for all staff and children.

Provide individual data entry into Child Plus program so the Program Logistics Manager can consolidate data into reports.

Provide timely newsletter articles to Program Support for newsletters.

Work with Program Logistics Manager to develop written procedures, form and policy revisions, and maintain CACFP records.

Interpret reports from behavioral health site observations.

Facilitate team participation on developing individualized behavior plans

Participate in developing, implementing and evaluating strategies to promote social-emotional development in early childhood.

Participating in weekly management meetings.

Producing a comprehensive monthly report to CDD Director.

Establishes effective relationships with children, parents, members of the community, and staff

Having a familiarity with the Bristol Bay area, people, and cultures.

Participating in activities which help parents feel welcome and part of the overall program.

Agreeing to BBNA's policy on confidentiality, keeping confidential information gained through employment secure, during and after this employment.

Travel in and out of region

by

Scheduling well planned trips to provide services, participate in training , workshops and to exchange information face to face.

Acting as a mentor to develop capacity of staff with similar professional goals.

WAGE: $29.32-60.18 DOE
