The Kansas Corporation Commission (KCC) currently has a vacancy for an unclassified Graphic Designer in the Public Affairs and Consumer Division (PACP) located in the Topeka Office. The KCC, is a multi-faceted agency responsible for regulating public utilities including electric, natural gas, telecommunication, as well as motor carriers, oil and gas pipelines and oil and gas production activities. The Commission's headquarters is in Topeka with the central Conservation office in Wichita and four Conservation district offices located in Dodge City, Wichita, Chanute and Hays.

Position Summary & Responsibilities
The PACP section handles all press inquiries, prepares news clippings for the agency, coordinates changes to the website and manages all public hearing and comment periods. In addition, PACP handles consumer complaints on a wide array of jurisdictional and non-jurisdictional utility matters.
Job Duties:
Designs and produces the agency's graphic products for presentation in a variety of media including print, website, social media and display.
Produces agency forms, commission brochures, and creates layout for the bi-weekly agency newsletter.
Provides back up support for website content updates, compiling and distributing daily news clips, and creating and scheduling YouTube events as needed.
Qualifications
Experience with Adobe's Creative Cloud applications, MS Office programs, and other software.
Knowledge of principles and techniques used in commercial art and graphic design.
Knowledge of methods of combining inks, papers, letter styles and sizes and various materials used in displays and exhibits in appropriate and effective ways.
Knowledge of printing techniques used in the reproduction of artwork.
Education may be substituted for experience as deemed relevant by the agency.
