Anticipated Start Date: July 2026

Position Summary:

Lead the publication and print needs of the university. Expectations include completing a set of annual print needs that may fluctuate in number depending on university needs such as campaign cycles and/or special events. This work of this position is mainly comprised of print needs but requires strong capability for graphic design also includes central institutional website management responsibility. Responsible for website publications and communication with other campus partners responsible for the institutions website. Skills necessary are ability to plan months in advance, effective calendar management and ability to communicate with other departments. This position reports directly to the Executive Vice President.

Major Duties and Responsibilities: include all duties for which this position is responsible for leadership, delegation and execution. The following but can vary depending on future scenarios:

A. Publications:

  • Heritage Magazine leadership and primary contributor, two issues annually
  • Occasional Performing Arts events print pieces
  • Design process for campaign materials
  • Design print mail pieces and manage distribution process
  • Design campus recognition pieces (plaques, pictures etc.)
  • Lead and create advertising pieces for local and national outlets
  • Campus Web Administration and Social Media
  • Responsible for oversight of main institutional website
  • Train and develop other key campus partners to ensure fresh and accurate content
  • Communicate with other campus professionals regarding content and ensure messaging connects with other communication forms
  • Back-up manager to campus social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, Google Business)
  • Proactive work to make the website more functional, and professional
  • Co-Manage Campus Photography
  • Alongside yearbook editor, cover or arrange coverage of all necessary university events
  • Take annual student and employee photos
  • Coordinate photography needs for all publications and website
  • Upload and organize photos for institutional archive (smug-mug and issuu.com)
  • Coordinate photography needs for all publications and website including selected athletic events, performing arts, student life and occasional alumni participation

Minor Responsibilities include duties in which support is necessary for task completion

  • Participate in special events for alumni and friends
  • Support social media efforts
  • Enforce and communicate university branding guidelines
  • Be prepared to edit and author institutional news releases
  • Serve as part of campus marketing committee

Professional Development Requirements:

Skills and Attributes needed:

  • Graphic design and layout skills
  • Effectively manage concurrent multiple tasks and deadlines with strong organizational skills
  • Creative, critical thinking skills, especially as it relates to planning and developing print pieces
  • Ability to use professional cameras
  • Read software and equipment manuals/instructions

Qualifications:

  • Minimum education requirement of bachelor's degree
  • Experience in graphics programs and desktop publishing such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Light Room and InDesign
  • Experience with Photography and editing capabilities

Physical Demands:

  • Endure demands resulting from significant time spent on a computer
  • Endure demands that result from variable and sometimes extended work hours
  • Be able to lift more than 20 pounds
