Job Summary Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of St. Louis is seeking a Communications & Digital Content Specialist to advance its mission by creating, managing, and optimizing digital content that highlights ministries, programs, and community impact. This role develops engaging social media content, supports digital communication strategies, and promotes events and campaigns to strengthen connections with supporters, volunteers, donors, and the broader community. The specialist collaborates closely with ministry leaders and the Integrated Marketing & Communications team to ensure all messaging reflects the organization's compassionate, mission-driven voice and consistent visual identity.Overview and Responsibilities
Content Creation & Management: Produce, edit, and schedule missionaligned content across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and other platforms. Deliverables include ministry stories, program updates, event promotions, volunteer opportunities, and organizational announcements.
Social Media Strategy Execution: Implement social media plans to increase awareness and engagement. Monitor trends, propose creative concepts, track analytics, and adjust content based on performance data.
Community Engagement: Respond to comments and messages promptly and professionally. Support event and campaign promotion and donor/volunteer engagement.
Collaboration & Storytelling: Gather stories, photos, testimonials, and updates from ministries and programs. Assist with photography, video, and basic graphic design for campaigns and organizational priorities.
Brand & Message Consistency: Ensure all content reflects Catholic Charities' mission, voice, and visual identity. Review all materials for accuracy, clarity, and appropriateness before publishing.
Knowledge and Experience Requirements
Associate's degree in related discipline and a minimum of 2 years' experience managing platforms and creating digital content for a missiondriven organization.
Experience with Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and related digital communication tools.
Effective communicator with strong relationshipbuilding abilities; English required, additional languages helpful.
Strong writing, storytelling, editing, and ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences.
Basic graphic design, photography, shortform video, and familiarity with Canva/Adobe tools; scheduling and analytics preferred.
Strong teamwork, time management, confidentiality, and occasional evening/weekend availability.
Skills and Competencies Required

Ability to demonstrate excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects in a fastpaced environment.

Demonstrated proficiency with project management tools (Asana, Trello, Microsoft Project) and integrated marketing/communications workflows.
