Job Summary/Basic Function:
- Develop, enhance, and lead in-house training sessions for online teaching effectiveness and the integration of instructional technology into online, hybrid, and in-person classes
- Oversee the assessment/quality assurance process for online courses
- Maintain awareness of new developments in training and instructional design and recommend modifications in our curriculum and practices
- Use curriculum development tools to create effective e-learning training, facilitation guides, course material, training aids, self-led material, and other training support material as required
- Work first-hand with fully online programs to align them with standards needed to achieve Quality Matters program certification
Minimum Qualifications:
- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with multiple constituencies and stakeholders of all levels, in a fast- paced, dynamic work environment
- Knowledge of current and emerging instructional strategies and best practices, and proven ability to adapt and learn new procedures, process, and technology.
- Knowledge of pedagogical issues related to online teaching and learning as well as current and emerging technologies from an instructional design perspective.
- Demonstrated ability to train one-on-one and in a group setting, as well as the ability to collaborate with faculty remotely as well as face-to-face.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and solve problems in creative and productive ways
- Experience with current learning management systems and online course tools in higher education.
- Experience with web-based tools and technologies and online conferencing software (e.g. VoiceThread, Zoom,).
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office 365 Suite (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint); preferred knowledge of other MS tools such as Teams, Sharepoint, etc.
- Knowledge of basic HTML , basic image manipulation software, such as Fireworks or Photoshop.
- Experience with content creation tools such as, Camtasia, Adobe Captivate Articulate Storyline, and Rise preferred but not required.
- Basic knowledge of streaming audio and video, compression methods, file types, and formats.
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree in Instructional Design, Curriculum Design, Educational Technology, Learning Engineering, or related field preferred
Six years experience in instructional design preferred
Experience with Brightspace LMS preferred
