Art Director Location: Hybrid onsite schedule in CUL, CUP or NYC Schedule : 40 hours Duration: 12 months Pay: $115-$125 DOE The Planet Group is looking for an Art Director to join our well-known Fortune 500 client on a 6-months contract, working a hybrid onsite schedule in CUL, CUP or NYC. Art Director | Qualifications: 7-10 years of relevant experience as a designer working with data-driven content at an agency, design studio, or media company; editorial experience is a plus. Outstanding portfolio demonstrating a range of formats, applications, and client work. Experience in reporting, data gathering, and translating information into clear, narrative-driven visuals. Comfortable collaborating with journalists, editors, engineers, data scientists, animators, and technologists. Strong proficiency in graphic design, typography, and illustration. Experience with D3, Processing, or similar tools and libraries. Experience prototyping ideas within a development environment. Deep understanding of how information design translates across platforms, media, and technologies. Knowledge of current trends in infographics, charting, and visual storytelling. Understanding of user-centered design principles, including the role of motion in storytelling. Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work across time zones. Experience in brand design, social media, or environmental graphics is a plus. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while presenting polished solutions to a broader creative team. 7+ years of relevant design or creative experience; experience in publishing, magazines, or content platforms is a plus. Art Director | Description: A highly creative thinker who generates ideas quickly and executes with clarity-- independently or collaboratively. Experienced in developing and executing editorial design, with a strong understanding of what makes content engaging across platforms and audiences. Demonstrates strong user experience instincts and intellectual curiosity; stays current with emerging tools, technologies, and practices. Collaborates with creatives, project managers, and business stakeholders to solve complex problems through simple, effective design. Skilled in developing prototypes across a variety of platforms and use cases; able to rapidly test and share ideas. Comfortable working within a global team across time zones and varied schedules. In this role, you will partner with creative leads to produce innovative and inspiring infographics and data visualizations aligned with creative briefs. You will also proactively contribute to upcoming editorial initiatives.
