Join our team! Our award winning paper in western Missouri, seeks a talented Managing Editor to management of the editorial department.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in journalism, exceptional writing skills, and a keen eye for detail. As the Managing Editor, you will oversee the editorial process, ensuring that content is accurate, engaging, and aligns with our publication's style guidelines.

Responsibilities:

- Manage the editorial team and assign tasks to writers and editors - Oversee the content creation process from idea generation to publication - Ensure all content meets high editorial standards and adheres to AP Style - Conduct fact-checking, research, and proofreading of articles - Collaborate with writers to develop engaging and informative content - Edit and revise content for clarity, accuracy, and style consistency - Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely publication of content

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field - Proven experience in a similar editorial role - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Strong editing, proofreading, and copywriting abilities - Proficiency in word processing software and content management systems - Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously - Knowledge of journalistic ethics and standards
