Demonstrate knowledge of curriculum content in social studies and instructional strategies to effectively engage students. Collect, analyze, and disseminate data. Model best practices in teaching, facilitating professional learning, and mentoring teachers. Participate in professional learning opportunities for mentoring teachers. Work cooperatively with colleagues. Provide leadership in the textbook adoption cycle and the selection of supplemental content-related resources. Provide leadership and support in the use of technology in teaching and learning, and serve as an advocate for the effective integration of technology into the curriculum. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist with identifying, supporting, and promoting instructional strategies that support student achievement and success. Collaborate with teachers to design student experiences that focus on authentic learning, content literacy, and curricular mastery. Plan collaboratively with teachers to enhance instruction aligned with the Georgia Standards of Excellence. Exhibit knowledge of learner development and cognitive levels to assist teachers in using a variety of instructional strategies. Analyze data, develop and implement plans for continuous improvement. Work with teachers to instruct students in the effective use of technology to enrich their learning experiences. Develop and lead enrichment opportunities for CCSS students. Help maintain the curriculum website. Survey faculty and staff to assess the school's training needs. Provide demonstrations of cutting-edge educational applications. Collaborate with leadership teams to correlate academic goals with the district and local school Continuous Improvement Plan and Balanced Scorecard. Attend and participate in faculty meetings, committee meetings, planning and training sessions as assigned. Design and deliver professional development opportunities that address school/district achievement goals. Assess the delivery of professional learning and adjust accordingly. Assists in the selection and/or development of district benchmark assessments. Maintain confidentiality. Participate in training and conferences, and read professional literature to maintain a high level of expertise in instructional strategies. Establish and maintain cooperative relations with school and system employees. Exhibit pleasant behavior and project a positive image when dealing with the public, employees, parents, and students. Follow and enforce school rules, as well as administrative, board, state, and federal rules, procedures, regulations, and policies. Complete assignments on time and in compliance with directions. Demonstrate regular and punctual attendance. Attend and participate in meetings as needed. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. REQUIRED EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, OR TRAINING: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree; Master's degree preferred. Hold the required Georgia certification. REQUIRED SKILLS: Ability to plan, organize, coordinate, and implement effective professional learning opportunities that support teachers' instructional needs. Proficient skills in oral and written communication. Ability to work well with peers. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Five years of successful teaching experience.
