Job Description
About the Team (Why Us?) The Hearst Magazines portfolio includes more than 25 powerful brands, including Cosmopolitan, ELLE, Esquire, Good Housekeeping, Harpers BAZAAR, Popular Mechanics, and Oprah Daily. We reach millions of readers annually across digital, print, social, and video. Our mission is to create meaningful content that celebrates curiosity, creativity, and the pursuit of excellence across every platform we touch.
RESPONSIBILITIESWrite and edit content for ElleDecor.com on a daily basis, working with our site lead and staff to ensure a lively, engaging mix of articles
Write and optimize SEO stories, as identified by Hearst's SEO team
Write and edit social media posts
Repackage monthly print-first content for the website and social channels
Monitor and report upon trends in the design community and culture at large that help generate new ideas for smart, timely web coverage
Assist with the deployment of Elle Decor's digital newsletters
QUALIFICATIONSMinimum of 3 years of digital media or journalism experience, ideally within the shelter/design category
Top-notch editing and writing skills
Excellent grasp of SEO strategy and traffic and analytics tools, such as Google Analytics, Google Trends, Parse.ly
A passion for editorial fashion content and knowledge of the latest fashion trends, brands, and markets
The base salary for this role is between $25/h. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
