A Brief OverviewThe Senior Instructional Designer will have responsibility for the design and development of online, self-paced and instructor-led learning modules using sound instructional design principles (ADDIE), industry standard authoring tools, UH templates and the UH's Learning Management System (Cornerstone). The Senior Instructional Designer will work collaboratively with other Instructional Designers, subject matter experts (SMEs) and internal clients to develop engaging and interactive learning to help our employees be successful in their role. The senior role is primarily focused on the ownership of the full instructional design life cycle for assigned projects including updating as needed as well as mentoring Level I and Level II Instructional Designers on the use of templates, tools and Instructional Design principles.What You Will DoProvide leadership within the area of technology specialization in compliance with guidelines, policies and norms of UH.Provide best fit technology consultation and solutions on multiple projects of significant complexity.Lead projects using learning technologies and instructional design development including analyzing and applying trends and best practices.Independently meet with Subject Matter Experts to gather content for online, self-paced and instructor-led learning modules.Design and develop engaging, interactive online and classroom training programs on products, process, systems and skills.Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and knowledge transfer.Create all training objects, tools and supporting materials for curriculum and collaborate with training facilitators to teach the material through train-the-trainer and teach-back sessions.Review feedback from internal clients and incorporate as needed.Assess and determine the most impactful training methods for gathered/created content through needs analysis and consultation with the project team members.Serve as consultant to project team members and training team members regarding best methods/tools and content for optimal training impacts.Conduct Train the Trainer sessions with classroom facilitators to prepare them to effectively deliver course content to end users as designed.Identify opportunities for transitioning traditional training format to on-line delivery when appropriate and designing the plan to make this transitionCollaborate with clients and technology staff to resolve issues related to technology use in teaching.Work on teams with CMTD and others in IT on the integration of technology into the classroom/distributed learning environmentMentor and Guide Instructional Designer I and Instructional Designer II colleagues.Encourage, initiate and/or conduct learning theory research to further knowledge of the field of instructional design.Recommend tools and design technologies for use by the CMTD team.Remain aware of all emerging instructional technologies and make recommendations about when to adopt certain systems to continue to offer the best learning experience possible.Provide advice and guidance in the design of systems, concepts and solutions, including outcomes assessment.Establish processes and procedures for data collection, data reduction, and data analysis.Utilize statistical applications as needed to support program or course design and development.Interface with vendors to evaluate technology-based instructional programs for incorporation into curriculum.Collaborate with leadership to develop appropriate evaluation methods to assess the effectiveness online, self-paced and instructor-led learning modules.Assist in troubleshooting developed courses in UH's LMS (Cornerstone).Answer customer support questions and monitor helpdesk tickets for the applications you support and develop content for.Additional R
