Freelance journalists wanted to cover local and/or regional stories image 1 of 1 compensation: $25 per 800 word original story with sources Over the summer, we're looking to build up a stockpile of stories for a local newspaper as well as a regional newspaper. Local coverage would be in Washington County, NY. We also have a regional newspaper where the interviews can mostly be done by Zoom. Journalism students, recent grads, retirees, homemakers, etc., welcome. To be clear, we need stories to be conducted journalistically, interviewing real sources, and originally written -- no AI. Newspapers aren't exactly rolling in money, so unfortunately we can't pay as much as we used to. To start, you would get $25 for an 800-word story that meets journalistic standards.
