Posting Number SP004855P Position Title ECLIPSE Senior Instructional Designer Division/College College of Education, Health & Human Sciences Department Department of Curriculum & Instruction Location Moscow, Boise, Off Campus Location - Hybrid/Remote Posting Context Statement ECLIPSE (Employment Capacity Leveraged through Inclusive Post-Secondary Education) is a statewide project at the University of Idaho, aimed at promoting competitive integrated employment ( CIE ) within inclusive post-secondary education ( IPSE ) programs for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities ( IDD ). Funded by a U.S. Department of Education grant, ECLIPSE enhances existing IPSE programs and creates new opportunities by improving work experiences, developing student skills, and increasing awareness of IPSE and CIE . The project helps students with IDD gain meaningful skills alongside peers, preparing them for successful employment and independent futures. Position Overview This position is responsible for designing and developing innovative and engaging learning content, training materials, and instructional and informational web pages that enhance knowledge retention and transfer.

Duties may include:
  • Contributing as a collaborative member of the ECLIPSE team as an instructional designer
  • Planning and managing instructional design projects that facilitate learners in acquiring knowledge and skills in an effective and appealing manner
  • Conferring with and advising project staff and other constituents on best practices in integrating technologies into training program design
  • Ensuring training products and web design are WCAG compliant
  • Providing training and technical support to staff and stakeholders

  • Three years of work experience as an instructional designer or online learning specialist in an academic setting
Required Education
  • Masters Degree in instructional design, online learning and pedagogy, curriculum and instruction, or educational technology
Required Other Additional Preferred
  • Four or more years of related work experience as an instructional designer/online learning specialist in an academic setting
  • Experience managing the administrative side of at least one LMS
  • Experience using web design software, HTML5, content management platforms, graphic design tools, and desktop publishing software
  • Experience creating online training modules with e-learning authoring tools as well as creating and editing multimedia content, including audio (.mp3) and video (.mp4) files
  • Experience designing and delivering dynamic workshops and in-person training
  • Experience developing accessible web content that meets current WCAG standards and demonstrates use of plain language
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multi-faceted projects while collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders
